Why have your prices increased?
For approximately the last twenty years, raw silver has been very
stable with a yearly average of between $4.50 and $5.00 per ounce.
In November of 2003, silver started to climb, and since then has
gone as high as $14.94 per ounce (on May 12, 2006.) Silver prices
have nearly tripled over the past three years. Since January
alone, silver costs have gone up more than forty percent.
What is the
quality of your Silver?
All of our merchandise is of excellent quality and is guaranteed to
be .925 Sterling Silver unless otherwise noted. Sterling silver
manufacturers use a variety of techniques to minimize tarnishing
(such as a rhodium finish), hence finishes may vary.
How do I care for my
jewelry?
To avoid tarnishing, wrap silver in tissue paper and store in
plastic zip lock baggie with anti-tarnish strip. We recommend
using just a silver polishing cloth to buff silver.
Anti-tarnish polish may be used. Cleaning dip should only be used as
a last resort. If you have to use a liquid cleaner, always use a
polishing cloth afterwards to put a polish, or protective coating
back on the jewelry, otherwise it will just yellow and tarnish
within a matter of days. Do not dip pieces with stones as it may
cause damage to the stones.
Minimize exposure of silver to perfumes, hair sprays or household
cleaners. Avoid wearing silver in pools, hot tubs or the ocean. Some
people may cause silver, in contact with their skin to turn black,
which may be difficult to clean. If not wearing silver jewelry,
always store in zip-lock plastic baggies.
